Measure the length and width of your countertop surface. For L-shaped or irregular countertops, divide into rectangular sections and calculate each separately.
Cabinets
Measure the width, height, and depth of each cabinet. For kitchen planning, standard base cabinets are 24" deep and 36" high including countertop.
Backsplash
Measure the length of the wall where the backsplash will be installed. The standard height is 18" (from countertop to bottom of upper cabinets).
Flooring
Measure the length and width of your kitchen floor. For irregular shapes, divide into rectangular sections and add them together.
